Kailee Tanaka

Hello my little lovelies! My name is Kailee Tanaka and I am a junior at Irvington High School who is currently serving as the 2015-2016 Irvington Key Club President. 'Tis I, the frenchiest fry, your very own dictator tot. Want to know a little bit more about me? Well I LOVE Disney/Pixar, childish cartoons, Parks and Recreation, and sports. It is my dream to one day be the owner of a bunch of doggies and to be over 5'3", but the latter is probably never going to happen. I am also eternally sleep deprived and oblivious to things going on around me, so I am terribly sorry if I do not look the most approachable during the school day!
As for what you are all here for: how did I start off my Key Club journey? I remember going to Six Flags Magic Mountain one time in the sixth grade during Thanksgiving break and seeing a bunch of overly spirited, colorfully dressed high schoolers there. One of them actually let me cut in front of them in line and proceeded to ask me the infamous question, "How do YOU feel?" At the time, I did not really know how to answer so I just responded with, "...I feel okay???" and I remember seeing a look of confusion on their face. Turns out I accidentally attended Fally Rally South!
Fast forward three years, I decided to join Irvington Key Club on a whim during my freshman year and finally understood the question when I attended Fall Rally North 2013. The first thought I had while standing with my fellow Key Clubbers at the entrance of Six Flags Discovery Kingdom was, "Wow, I think I might become something because of this club, I just know it." Now I can confidently answer that I DO know how I feel, and I feel like this is a life-changing experience that I will never regret or forget.
On a less serious note, do not hesitate to ever talk to me or ask me questions because I love meeting new people! Helping others is truly a passion of mine because I cannot seem to help myself (oops). Thank you for being the reason that I power through those sleepless nights full of homework, club work, procrastination, and stress. Never hesitate to take your involvement a step further and always remember that you have the opportunity to empower change in yourself, others, and your community. Stay super, superheroes! :)
